02 weeks trip to Manchester, Narita, Incheon, Macau, Guangzhou

We were once again previledged to be the carrier to one of the famous football club on their Asia tour 2007.

At Manchester, I was staying at one of the hotel in the airport together with the rest of team members. My colleague, Sue was there too, and this was her last trip with Charter flight as she is leaving for a better position at IT Dept eff 1Aug07.

Upon arrival Narita, we were staying at Holiday Inn Tobu for two nights. It was my first trip to Japan and everything was seems very very expensive. However, the people is ammazing and it seems like I love the way their greeting and respect each other. Not able to join Arman and Shazlin to Tokyo as I was stucked meeting the agent at the airport. :-(

I was lone ranger at Incheon as the rest of the team members were flying back to Kuala Lumpur after sending the paxs at the airport. Lucky, Bob managed to come one day after my arrival and brought the food stuff, as everything that I brought earlier was finished so fast at Narita (lapar daaaa...). We were managed to go to the mosque at Inaewon, eating the middle east food (30,000KWN.. around RM120.00.. mahal beb...). Bob had to do his shopping alone on the second day as I was so busy carrying my job at the airport. Three days in Korea and I had to move to Macau, and Bob back to Kuala Lumpur.

In Macau, I was staying at the hotel in the airport area. Same as Narita and Incheon, Macau is also my first time visit. Compared to Manchester, Narita and Incheon (everyday raining), Macau temperature was so high... > to 35C. Casino everywhere, and I almost give up hanging around at Macau city. It was so lucky that I met Saniah, an Indonesian girl working at Macau, together with her friend, Anis. Watch out our picture together and I really thanks them for their hospitality of accompanying me at this foreign place. We went to the mosque, red market for small shopping etc. We also met one couple from Johor Baharu (Pakcik Rahman & wife) spending their holiday at Macau.

I was supposed to come back to base after handling the paxs at Macau. However, the office wants me to continue my journey to Guangzhou, their last destination for this trip. Bought my new phone at Hangjin Market with Azman, our engineer based in CAN airport. A night before, we had a dinner at one of the muslim restaurant accompany by our Canton managers, Mr. Jamaran, Danny and my colleague Joe.

Once again, we went to Manchester to send the paxs back before flying home to Kuala Lumpur. With these two weeks journey, I'm not only meeting many new friends, but also gave me confidence of handling the operations duty at stations, alone!!! 8-)

Townsville, Australia

I was in Townsville, Australia on 1-3May2007, taking MH141 KUL-SYD-BNE. Stayed one night in BNE before connecting to TSV on Qantas Airlines. Two nights in TSV before moved to Penang.
TSV is really nice and beautifull place, I would say. Peaceful and stress-free.
On day two, I wait the set of crew members at the airport with Mr. Noel H Evans, the person-in-charge of the Aircrew Transfers TSV (hope his beloved wife is OK now). .
We had dinner with Bernie, the charterer, who 'belanja' us at one of the seafood restaurant.
To Noel... thanks for the short tour at Townsville. Oppss.. before I forget, I also met one marine army when I'd my evening walking at the park.. The best is, he wish me Selamat Petang.. hmm.. how nice!!

Training on the new flight planning system

Flight Planning Flight Following (FpFF) is our new flight operations system effective next year,2007. Since my main job is to plan the charter flight routing, therefore to know this new system is compulsary.

02 days training at my former department in KLIA was not enough. Get to know and get to use the 02 flat screens with too many keywords and rules and buttons and blah blah blah are not as easy as learning a PS1!!! Fuhhh..

When I first start involved in the technical field in flight navigation last 5 years, forcing myself to understand the mapping language, was the most difficult time in my career life. Learning secretary when I was in college but end up as a flight planner !!.. (you might say I'm crazy... rite??) but that I don't call a waste, thats what I called adventures...

Hope I can catch-up learning about this new system soon. 20 more years to go, if Allah's will, more new things to learn in this airline aviation industry... Stay tune...

Chongqing & Changsha, China Airport Evaluations

On 24July2006, a group of 6 from Kuala Lumpur and a rep from Xiamen went to Chongqing and Changsha via Canton to evaluate our new China flight destinations.

We arrived Guangzhou (Canton) around 1300hours before connecting to Chongqing using China Southern Airline. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport located in the Lianglu Town, Yubei District, about 21km northeast from the suburb area. (I saw Nash, the Malaysian rock singer on board KUL/CAN... hmmm.. I love most of his 80's song with rockband Lefthanded)

Mike from Xiamen with the rest of the KUL team members, Kamal, Capt Borman, Dzul, Haji Musa, Jamal and myself (the rose among the thorn) have then make a move to Changsha after spending 02 days in Chongqing. We fly with Xiamen Airlines to Changsha, another new charter destination located 25km away from the city center. Changsha Huanghua International Airport is the largest as well as the best equipped airport in Hunan Province.

Another 02 days in Changsha before we returned to Guangzhou for our connecting flight back to KLIA. The evaluation and meeting with the airport authorities was succesfull.

Thank you to Azman, our engineer (posting to Canton), who brought us for dinner to one of the Malaysian tourism friend (En. Suhaimi) house and join the crowd with the rest of the lovely Malaysian family.

To all, enjoy the photos. ;-)

F1 Teams Begin Arriving For Second Round Race Sports
March 14, 2006 17:42 PM

SEPANG, March 14 (Bernama) -- About 250 officers and crew of four Formula One (F1) teams flew in here last night on board a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) chartered flight for the second round of the FIA World Grand Prix this weekend at the Sepang Circuit.

The A330-300 aircraft ferrying the Ferrari, Renault, Toyota and Toro Rosso teams arrived at the KL International Airport (KLIA) from Manama, Bahrain, venue of the first round race.

"This is our second large-scale motoring-related chartered flight. Last year, we took the London-Sydney Vintage Car Rally around the world," said MAS Chartered and Haj Services assistant general manager Capt Nik Huzlan Nik Hussain.

Meanwhile, Emirates SkyCargo's B747-400 freighter carrying F1 machinery and equipment weighing 110 tonnes touched down at KLIA, Tuesday morning.

"This is the first time in Malaysia that Emirates SkyCargo has been chartered to fly in a shipment for the F1 Grand Prix. We are pleased to have been given this opportunity to play a role in this year's Malaysian Grand Prix," said its country manager, Alban Lee.

Have you read the above media release? And for your info, I was there together with the team, handling the flight in Bahrain together with my colleages, Donatella Marcocci from Rome office and Thomas from our Dubai office. Departed to Dubai via Karachi on 11 Mar 2006. Transit Karachi about 1hr30mins. That was my first time in Karachi and second time in Dubai. Arrived Dubai around 8 o'clock at night and spent one night at Al Bustan Residence Hotel Apartments, Al Qusais, Dubai. Enough time to do a light shopping at Naif Road and continued to buy few materials at new Dubai town the next morning. Thanks to Mr.? who showed me the way to Dubai port by bus (he is from India currently work at an IT company in Dubai.. sorry I can't remember his name). Departed to Bahrain via GF509 at 2345 Dubai local time with Dona. Thomas was in Bahrain taking the morning flight from Dubai. Arrived Bahrain at 2355 local time. Dubai GMT difference is about one hour ahead Bahrain. We spent the whole night at Bahrain Airport to clear the passengers movement etc etc. Everything went smooth and MH8797 arrived KUL with the 'paluan kompang' by Malaysian tourism at KLIA.
